OUT-PATIENT CLINICS

 

Psychiatry Clinic Hospital USM is a Mental Health Clinic, which provides a variety of psychological services and counseling by clinical psychiatrists. Patients came for treatment through referrals from government hospitals and clinics as well as private.The clinic began operating early in 1984, located on the ground floor of the hospital building, where the Welfare Unit is now. At that time the number of patients more than 30 people for each clinic session. After that, psychiatric clinic moved to level 5 North for several months before moving to its present location, which is in Zone D, Kompleks Klinik. This clinic is the first clinic according to the layout of the complex clinics clinics. The clinic has been placed under the responsibility of a Head of Department.

  • Reducing the rate of relapse in patients treatment.
  • Identifying and reducing learning problems for children and adolescents in school.
  • Creating an excellent work culture and values with customers.
  • Creating a conducive work and safe environment for patients and staff.
 
SERVICES
 
The clinic is responsible for providing mental health care and help address the problem of children in schools to improve the quality of people's health. The clinic serves each day from 0810 until 1655. In this clinic, patients receive treatment by appointment to avoid congestion. However we also accept  walk-in cases if the patient's condition requires.

1. General Psychiatry Clinic
  • Treating patients referred to psychiatric clinic either new or re-patient
  • Conducting mental health screening for newly referenced patients
 
2. Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic
  • Conduct screening for those with memory and cognitive problems
  • Treat people who have cognitive and memory disorders
  • Provide psychiatric services for senior citizens
 
3. Children and Adolescent Clinic
  • Perform a mental health screening
  • Visit home or school for identified cases
  • Perform Outreach filters
  • Conduct screening for Special Needs Children
 
4. WISER clinic
  • Provide metadon replacement therapies to filtered patients
  • Conduct relevant research

  • Only accept referral cases for an appointment or any changes in an appointment, patients make a personal appointment with the specialist.
 
 
PROCEDURES
 
  • Clinic receives clients with appointment only. 
  • Client were referred by medical doctors, mental health professionals, registered counselor or teacher. 
  • Walk-in cases were accepted if the patient's condition requires urgent treatment.
  • Appointments can be made by phone or in person.
  • Client are required to register themselves during first appointment. 
  • The documents are required for registration are identification card, warranty / guarantee employer / pensioner card, letter from school and referral letter
