MASTER OF MEDICINE, MASTER OF SURGERY & MASTER OF PATHOLOGY PROGRAMMES

Full time based only (Coursework Mode)
Minimum candidature is 4 years and maximum 7 years
Admission is in June & December yearly

 

Minimum Entry Requirements
  1. Candidate MUST possess Medical Degree, such as MBBS, MD, MBChB or equivalent qualification accepted by the University Senate and is registered with the Malaysian Medical Council [MMC]
  • Refer MMC’s portal for the List of Medical Institutions (Second Schedule Medical Act 1971): https://mmc.gov.my/medical-education-recognition/. Candidates holding degree from unrecognized institutions are required to sit and pass the EPR Examination prior admission. The application for EPR is to be made via the Medical Register Information and Technical System (MeRITS) at meritsmmc.moh.gov.my.
  1. Candidate MUST also possess at least 2 years experience after graduation, either in hospitals or other institutions certified and accepted by the University Senate
  2. Candidates are also required to attend a Medical Specialist Pre Entrance Programme Examination (MedEX)- minimum to achieve Band 4 /interview before the final selection for certain programmes
  3. Candidate MUST also in good physical and mental condition
  4. Candidates must have a certain duration of experience in certain specialities (refer to the respective training module of the speciality programme).

English Requirements for Foreign Candidate

  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    (Applicable for International Applicants Only)
    • A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Cambridge English: Advance (CAE)/Proficiency (CPE) /Preliminary (PET) /First (FCE)/ Linguaskill Online; or
    • A minimum score of 47 for Pearson Test of English (PTE); or
    • A minimum of Band 107 for CIEP Level (ELS); or
    • A minimum of Band 3.5 for Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
    Exemption CAN BE CONSIDERED to candidate if:
    • English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
    • Candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and/or Master degree level is English (statement of proof required)
