Department of Internal Medicine provides clinical training for various cohort of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

For the undergraduate, both the ward facility as well as her staffs are involved in providing clinical inputs to pre-clinical student at phase 1 of Medical Degree training at Year 1 and Year 2.

Once medical students joined the clinical years, they undergo internal medicine training in year 3 (GMT 305) and year 5 (GMT 505).

The department also cater for medical students from all over the world who chose to do the elective clinical attachement at USM.

At the postgraduate level, we cater for the Masters of Medicine Internal Medicine programme.  Trainee undergo rotation at the various subspeciality services available at USM. We also provide training for other postgraduate programme that require internal medicine clinical rotations.  Some subspeciality also provide speciality fellowship training.

There are also candidate that participate in research based MSc and Phd training in the department.
