MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Message from the Head of Department

The Department of Chemical Pathology is committed to three equally valued and interrelated missions: delevering quality Laboratory services and training, Teaching and Learning and Research activities in accordance with highest profesional standards of MS ISO 15189, PPSP Teaching & Learning ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 9001 HUSM that will alleviate human suffering through the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. We hope to achieve our missions while conducting ourselves and our business as profesionals and with respect to our patients and collegues.

The Department is under management of School of Medical Sciences, Health Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia. It has many units including Inborn Error Metabolic Unit (IEM), Outpatient Department (OPD), Endocrine Lab, Routine Laboratory and  Tumour Marker Section. The Routine Lab offer the Lab services for 24 hours.

We currently have 16 lecturers, 5 Scientific Officers,  1 Assisstant Scientific Officer, 30 JTMPs, 2 Lab Assisstants, 2 Operational Assisstants, and 2 Clerks. We hope that in colaboration with our colleagues  in the School and Hospital, we can upgrade our research, teaching and clinical exprience in accordance with the directions of University policy as a whole.
