Our academic staff who are also involved as researchers in various internal and external grants are actively collaborating with partners from other universities, nationally and internationally as well as with the associations and industry collaborators.

As Human Genome Centre is a centre focuses on teaching and research, a major approach of this department is to train students in laboratory (basic science) skills and fundamentals of the medical genetics so that they acquire vital transferable skills during their study period. We are also involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching focusing on basic concepts of human genetics.

Human Genome Centre is a main centre for genetic testing, receiving samples from East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia including Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang. Our diagnostic services have improved the diagnosis of genetic disorders by providing robust and accredited laboratory testing.
