Welcome to the virtual home of the Department of Immunology, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

You are encouraged to navigate our website, and to discover the interesting work and services offered by our department.

We face and attempt to overcome or manage several immunological disorders that put the human body's immune system at risk such as autoimmune disorders, allergies, underdiagnosed immunodeficiencies as well as emerging infectious diseases. Moreover, the immune system's relevance with cancers is increasingly being recognised.

  • Immunology and proteomics (immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescent, double immunoenzymatic labelling); Genomics (molecular cloning, RT-qPCR, transcriptomics, gene expression profiling including microarrays and RNA-seq); Bioinformatics (R, GSEA, Primer3, Primer-BLAST, Ensembl and UCSC genome browsers); Cell culture (cancer cells, primary cells purification and activation, transfection, transduction, lentivirus-mediated gene knockdown).
