Virtual Anatomy Museum

The Anatomy Museum functions as a teaching and learning center, providing a learning space and acting as an anatomy knowledge resource center for the students at Universiti Sains Malaysia and the surrounding community.

Being a resource center for anatomy teaching and learning, the museum needs to handle a large volume of students and visitors. These lead to the issues of limited access to museums and learning materials by the students because of the limited museum spaces and the limited number of learning materials that can be provided by the museum. There is also the need for a digital model for online practical sessions.

These further support the idea of transforming the physical learning materials and museum into a digital form.

The main objective of this project is to develop a platform that can be accessed at any time for the delivery of virtual teaching and learning support materials at a minimum cost, providing a platform for students and the community to access teaching and learning material virtually, ensuring unlimited and lifelong spreading and sharing of knowledge, optimizing the use of materials, and fostering public interest in learning human anatomy and medical sciences.

The Virtual Museum has won several recognitions at the USM, national, and international levels.

1. School of Medical Sciences Quality Competition 2022 - First Place

2. New Academia Learning Innovation, UTM (NALI 2022) - Gold Medal

3. Digital Innovation Competition-International Conference on Teacher Education (ICTE 2022) - Silver Medal
