Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Programme – i‑CSC, 03/02/2026
The Paediatric Department, in collaboration with the Integrated‑Clinical Simulation Centre (i‑CSC), successfully conducted a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training programme yesterday for their postgraduate trainees. This session focused on strengthening essential emergency management skills specific to pediatric patients.
The training covered key components of pediatric emergency care, including:
- High‑quality infant and child CPR techniques
- Airway and breathing support using pediatric simulation models
- Recognition and management of shock, arrhythmias, and respiratory distress
- Safe defibrillation and emergency algorithm application
- Team‑based crisis communication and coordination skills
The programme was facilitated by Paediatric Department lecturers, supported by i‑CSC simulation facilities and equipment. This collaboration ensures that postgraduate paediatric trainees receive structured, evidence‑based preparation for real clinical scenarios.
The session was well received and highlighted the importance of simulation‑enhanced training in developing confident, competent future specialists.
