The East Coast Basic Surgical Skills Workshop & Competition will be organised by the Integrated Clinical Simulation Centre (i‑CSC) in collaboration with multiple partner organisations. This two‑day programme focuses on the development and assessment of core basic surgical skills among medical students in the clinical years.
The workshop combines hands‑on skills training with a structured competitive component, allowing participants to practise and demonstrate essential techniques in a controlled simulation environment.
Key skill areas include:
- Knot tying
- Suturing
- Basic laparoscopy
The programme is designed to support deliberate practice, technical accuracy, and structured performance evaluation within simulation‑based surgical skills training.
