Overview
Joint programme of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) with the aims:
- To produce highly competent clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist who are able to apply their knowledge and provide services in various relevant agencies.
- To produce graduates who are able to practice ‘scientist-practitioner’ approach in clinical and professional services
- To provide exposure and opportunities for the graduates to effectively serve in the multicultural and multireligious society.
Duration
- Full-time: 3 years (6 semesters)
- Part-time: 5 years (10 semesters)

Admission Requirement
- Completed the Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) USM-UPSI programme with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
OR, - A Master degree in Psychology (Clinical) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and accepted by the USM and UPSI Senate/ fulfilled the MQA Program Standards for Psychology requirement.
AND,
Fulfill the courses required:
- Statistics for Clinical Psychologists and Cognitive Neuroscientists; and
- Intermediate Psychometric; and
- Research Methodologyand Protocol Developmentin Clinical Psychology and Cognitive Neurosciences; and
- Ethics, Cross-cultural and Professional Issues; and
- Psychological Intervention 1; and
- Psychological Intervention 2; and
- Child and Adult Psychopathology and Psychopharmachology; and
- Child Psychological Assessment; and
- Adult Psychological Assessment; and
- Child Practicum and Seminar; and
- Adult Practicum and Seminar; and
- Psychology Research Project;
AND,
For Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Psychology):
- HealthPromotionandDiseasePrevention;and
- RehabilitationPsychology;
For Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology):
- FunctionalNeuroanatomy; and,
- Neuropsychological Disorders and Assessment.
Language Requirement
English
- Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (PBT) or 80 (IBT) or 213 (CBT)
- Or minimum IELTS score of 6.0
- Or minimum MUET score of Band 4
For International candidates need to attend and pass Bahasa Malaysia LKM 100 course during this program.
