Date: 29 & 30 July 2025 (Tuesday & Wednesday)
Venue: Dewan Seri Serumpun, PKD Bachok
Day 1:
- Interactive lectures covering core neonatal resuscitation concepts, physiology, and clinical algorithms.
- The topics includes:
- Foundations of neonatal resuscitation
- Anticipating and preparing for resuscitation
- Initial steps of newborn care
- Positive pressure ventilation
- Intubation techniques/Laryngeal mask airway placement
- Chest compressions
- Medications and umbilical venous cannulation
- Resuscitation and stabilization of preterm babies
- Post-resuscitation care
- Ethics and end-of-life care
- Improving resuscitation team performance
- Resuscitation outside the delivery room
- Quality improvement strategies
- Introduction to the integrated skill stations you will practice at 4-5pm, including demonstrations by faculty.
Day 2:
- Multiple choice question examination to assess comprehension of key knowledge from Day 1.
- Rotations through hands-on skill stations to reinforce proper technique in neonatal ventilation, chest compressions, intubation, umbilical line placement, etc.
- High fidelity simulations to apply your skills and decision-making in realistic neonatal resuscitation scenarios under expert guidance.
