Neonatal Vascular Access Workshop USM 2024; A Remarkable Success

The Neonatal Vascular Access Workshop organised by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Health Campus on 4th June 2024 was a resounding success. Themed "Vascular Access Unveiled: Strategies For Neonatal Care", the workshop aimed to equip healthcare professionals with the latest knowledge and practical skills in neonatal vascular access procedures.

The one-day intensive programme was held at the Blok Pembelajaran & Sumber Pelajar (BPSP) in USM Health Campus, in Kelantan. Participants were welcomed with a well-organised registration process, where they collected their name tags and goodies. The total number of participants exceeded expectations for the workshop. The welcoming speech was given by our head of the Paediatric department, AP Dr Mohamad Ikram Ilias.

The workshop agenda covered a comprehensive range of topics, including the latest techniques, best practices, and hands-on training sessions. Led by renowned experts in the field: AP Dr Noraida Ramli, Dr Nor Rosidah Ibrahim, Dr Farohah Che Mat Zain, Dr Mohd Hazman Kamaruzaman and Mr Robert Ng. Followed by sharing of experience by our MMEDs students: Dr Shafinaz, Dr Aishah and Dr Farina. The sessions were highly informative and interactive, allowing participants to deepen their understanding and refine their skills.

Overall, the Neonatal Vascular Access Workshop USM 2024 exemplified the commitment of USM and the healthcare community to advancing neonatal care and promoting continuous learning among healthcare professionals. The success of this event lays the foundation for future workshops and initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and delivering exceptional care to the most vulnerable members of society.
