Alhamdulillah, the Department of Pediatrics at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) successfully conducted the Malaysian Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (MyNRP) training on February 20-21, 2024 at BPSP, HUSM.

This essential training brought together doctors, nurses, and medical assistants from the HUSM Departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Emergency, as well as personnel from private hospitals in Terengganu.

The key objectives of this impactful training program included:

  • Enhancing knowledge on the critical importance of newborn resuscitation for babies experiencing complications.
  • Improving skills in newborn resuscitation with a focus on leadership, communication, and teamwork.
  • Reducing neonatal mortality and morbidity by equipping providers with the expertise to improve outcomes.

We thank the dedicated committees, trainers and trainees for their participation and commitment to excelling in these lifesaving skills. HUSM's Department of Pediatrics will continue offering MyNRP trainings to spread this knowledge across more facilities and ensure the best possible care is available for newborns in need.
