Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, 27 October 2025 – In conjunction with the Sustainability Week at the School of Medical Sciences (PPSP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), a lecture titled “Microplastic Pollution: Negative Impacts on Society” was held at Lecture Hall 4, PPSP, at 10:30 a.m untill 1.00p.m

The lecture was organized through a collaboration between the PPSP Sustainability Committee and the Industry, Community and Development Engagement Unit (LIKP), under the leadership of Deputy Dean, Prof. Dr. Aziah binti Daud. The event reflects PPSP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sustainability awareness and foster social responsibility among the university community towards the environment.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohamad Danial Shafiq, Lecturer from the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, USM Penang. The program was one of the main activities of Sustainability Week, which ran from 26 to 29 October 2025.
During the session, Dr. Mohamad Danial highlighted the growing concern over microplastic pollution and its impacts on human health and ecosystems. He also encouraged adopting sustainable practices in daily life as small steps towards making a significant positive change for the environment
