Benchmark Visit by HRPZ II to i-CSC USM
The Integrated Clinical Simulation Centre (i-CSC), School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (PPSP USM) recently hosted an official visit from the Director and delegation of Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ II) as part of a benchmarking initiative.
The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the development, management, and implementation of a clinical simulation centre, as HRPZ II is planning to establish a similar facility to enhance healthcare training and professional development.
During the session, the delegation was introduced to:
- ✅ Overview of i-CSC operations and training framework
- ✅ Simulation-based education approaches for medical and healthcare learners
- ✅ Facility design and simulation equipment setup
- ✅ Integration of simulation into clinical training programmes
The visit also included a guided tour of the simulation facilities, allowing the delegation to observe various training stations, simulators, and learning environments used in undergraduate and professional training. The benchmarking session served as a platform for professional exchange and discussion, where both institutions shared experiences and perspectives on advancing simulation-based education in healthcare. This initiative reflects i-CSC USM’s continued commitment to:
- Supporting institutional development
- Promoting best practices in simulation training
- Strengthening collaboration with healthcare partners
