CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL CONFERENCE, SCHOOL OF MEDICAL SCIENCES USM
by Department of Neurosciences
MMA-CPD Points: 1
Short synopsis:
This CPC discusses on one patient presented with seizures. The MRI neuroradiological images showed abnormal gyrations. Polymicrogyria with refractory epilepsy was diagnosed. The neurologist will explain the EEG, video EEG and ECoG findings; me as neurosurgeon will discuss on MEG findings and techniques of surgery. We did awake surgery for this patient because the epileptic lesions were closed to eloquent brain areas. Anaesthetist trained in awake technique will talk about ‘awake surgery in epilepsy’ and finally, the neuropathologist will explain on the histological aspects of the removed specimens. This CPC discusses on one patient presented with seizures.
