Postgraduate Short Course Program
CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP - INTRODUCTION
- Clinical Fellowship: maximum 1 year
- Clinical Observership: maximum 6 months
Clinical Fellowship
The candidate has similar status to that of a Master of Medicine’s student. He/she will work under the supervision of their Supervising Consultant, or a trained member of his/her team. Registration with Malaysia Medical Council (MMC) is compulsory.
Clinical Observership
The candidate is given an observer status only, similar to that of a medical student. He/she will work under the supervision of his/her Supervising Consultant, or a trained member of his/her team. Registration with MMC is encouraged but is not compulsory.
Clinical Activities
- Participation in clinic, ward rounds and operation room
- Participation and interpretation of ophthalmic imaging: ultrasonography, optical coherence tomography, etc
- Performing common related clinical procedures
Surgical Activities
- Assist various related surgical procedures
Research Activities
- Participation in a research project that suitable for presentation and publication
- Attendance and presentation at ophthalmology meetings
- A minimum of 1 publication either in the form of case report or original article
Teaching Activities
- Participation in ophthalmology conference
- Supervision and teaching of Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) students (postgraduate) and medical students (undergraduate)
Any doctors from any part of the world with certificate of good practice from the medical council of his/her current practicing country.
