“Empowering Healthy Living: PPSP’s Nutrition Talk and Healthy Menu Competition 2025”
Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, 28 October 2025 – The School of Medical Sciences (PPSP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), continues to promote healthy eating habits and sustainable lifestyles through the program “Healthy Eating Tips: Smart Choices on Your Plate, Secrets to Lasting Energy”, held in conjunction with PPSP Sustainability Week 2025.
The program, held at Lecture Hall 4, PPSP, at 8:30 a.m., featured Puan Nor Elyana Awang, a Dietetic Officer at PPSP, as the guest speaker. The session focused on the importance of making balanced, nutritious, and sustainable food choices to ensure lasting energy and overall health.

According to Puan Nor Elyana, making smart choices on your plate not only helps maintain physical fitness but also plays a vital role in preventing non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. She also emphasized that adopting sustainable dietary practices contributes to individual well-being and environmental sustainability.

In the afternoon, the program continued with a Healthy Menu Competition participated in by PPSP staff and students. The competition encouraged creativity in preparing balanced and healthy meals while promoting the sharing of ideas and healthy eating practices within the campus community.

PPSP also extends its highest appreciation to Prof. Dr. Aziah binti Daud, Deputy Dean of Industry, Community, and Development Engagement (LIKP), for her guidance, commitment, and steadfast support in ensuring the program’s success. Her ongoing efforts in strengthening community engagement and sustainability initiatives are highly valued and have been instrumental to the program’s success.

Organized by the PPSP Sustainability Committee, the program successfully achieved its objectives in promoting health awareness, instilling sustainability values, and fostering stronger connections among the campus community, industry partners, and society at large. This aligns with USM’s aspiration as an APEX University, emphasizing global well-being and sustainable development.
