BENGKEL “HANDS ON” PERMOHONAN PENARAFAN BINTANG PROJEK KOMUNITI TAHUN 2025

Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, 8 October 2025 – The School of Medical Sciences (PPSP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), through its Industry, Community Engagement and Development (LIKP) arm, successfully organized the “Hands-On” Workshop on Community Project Star Rating Application 2025, held at the PPSP Conference Room.

The programme, which ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive and practical exposure to the process of applying for the star rating, in line with efforts to strengthen the effectiveness and impact of the university’s community projects on society.

In her opening speech, Deputy Dean of Industry, Community Engagement and Development, Professor Dr. Aziah binti Daud, who also chaired the programme, highlighted the importance of implementing high-quality, high-impact community projects, in alignment with the university’s aspiration to enhance its role in societal development. She also expressed her appreciation to all parties involved in making the workshop a success.

The workshop featured three experienced speakers: Dr. Anisa Ahmad from the Department of Medical Education, Dr. Nur Suhaila Idris from the Department of Family Medicine, and Dr. Noraini Mohamad from the Unit of Basic Medical & Dental Sciences. They shared guidelines, strategies, and best practices in the preparation of documentation and reporting of community projects to meet the set star rating standards.

This workshop is seen as a proactive step by PPSP to empower university members in planning and executing high-impact community projects, while supporting the university’s sustainable development agenda. Initiatives such as this not only enhance the quality of participation in the star rating scheme but also strengthen strategic relationships between the university and the local community.
