Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zul Izhar Mohd. Ismail is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He also holds a concurrent position as the Deputy 1 Chairperson of the School of Medical Sciences Outcome Based (OBE) Committee. He graduated from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia and obtained his MBBS in 1999. He further obtained his Master of Philosophy (Mphil) in Biomedical Science from the same university in 2004. He is a life member of the Malaysian Anatomical Association and Malaysian Medical Association. He has written numerous publications in both local and international journals and presented his research findings in scientific conferences. He had completed and is currently holds local and international research grants either as the principal investigator or as the co investigator. He had graduated and currently supervising Masters and PhD students. As an anatomist, he has a particular interest in histomorphometric analysis, neurotoxicology, radiological anatomy, clinical anatomy and anatomy education. He teaches Anatomy to undergraduate medical students and postgraduate students. He had held several academic and administrative positions during the tenure of his service in USM.
