The second edition of Burn Talk: Back to Basics (BTBTB) 2.0 was successfully held on 23rd July 2025 (Wednesday) at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), drawing a total of 130 enthusiastic participants.

 

The program was graced by several distinguished guests, including:

• Yang Berbahagia Profesor Dato’ Dr. Ab Rahman Izaini Ghani, Director of HUSM

• Dr. Mohd Shahrul Suondoh, President of the Malaysian Society for Burn Injury (MBSI)

• Other key representatives from MMA Kelantan, SCHOMOS, and USM Plastic Surgery Unit

 

This year’s BTBTB featured insightful lectures, interactive sessions, and live discussions on crucial burn related topics such as:

• Overview of East Coast Burn Injuries

• Burn management in primary care

• Airway and inhalational injury

• Wound assessment with AI integration

• Burn surgical pearls including escharotomy tips

 

The program also saw active collaboration with external organizations such as MMA Kelantan and multiple corporate sponsors including Venusys, Delta Medisains, Stratwide, and Ridge Biomed, who contributed through company talks and product showcases.

 

With overwhelmingly positive feedback, strong participation, and fruitful knowledge exchange, BTBTB 2.0 has proven to be a success paving the way for yet another Burn Talk: Back to Basics in the near future.
